Special Notice to Canadian Crystallographers

Tax Deductible Contribution to the L.D. Calvert Trust Fund

The Canadian National Committee of the IUCr, under the auspices of the L.D. Calvert Trust Fund, has instituted a method for tax deductable contributions by individuals and solicit your contributions.

The Larry Calvert CNC/IUCr Trust Fund offers travel awards for students presenting a poster or talk at the triennial IUCr congresses; as well as a Canadian Crystallography Student Presentation Award for the best Canadian student poster at the yearly American Crystallographic Association meetings.

The intended use for received donations, by default, 50% is added to the principal and 50% spent on the awards. Though people donating to the fund can, if they wish, specify the percentages of their donation to be split between the principal, spent on triennial IUCr travel awards and the annual ACA conference Canadian Crystallography Student Presentation Award. However, actual amounts split between donations and growing the fund is subject to Canada Revenue Agency regulations.

Contributions to the award fund must be made to the CNC, to be eligible for tax deduction status. Cheques should be made out to:
