CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR CANADIAN TRAVEL AWARDS
IUCr XXII Congress, Madrid, Spain, 22-30st August 2011
The next International Congress of Crystallography will be held in Madrid, Spain, from August 22 to 30, 2011. General information about the IUCr XXI Congress and General Assembly can be found on the World Wide Web at the following home page address:

As on previous occasions, the Canadian National Committee for Crystallography is sponsoring travel awards for deserving graduate students currently studying crystallography in Canada and wishing to attend the IUCr Congress. Only students registered in M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs will be considered for these awards. Pending a large number of applications, preference will be given to applications from Ph.D. students. Up to three travel awards of $750.00 each will be provided to be used towards the cost of travel and related expenses to the IUCr Congress. The successful candidates must be presenting a paper or poster at the IUCr Congress. Note that the awards are not intended to support attendance at one of the satellite meetings of the Congress. The submissions will be judged using the following documentation, which must be provided by all candidates:
* A copy of the abstract submitted for the congress
* A brief description (<200 words) of their graduate research
* A letter of reference from the research supervisor
* Anticipated date of graduation
* A list of other sources of funding to attend the congress,
including financial support from advisor and other travel
bursaries for which the candidate has applied.
Submissions for travel awards must be received by Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Awardees will be announced by March 31, 2011.

Le Comité National Canadien (CNC) pour la Cristallographie offre des bourses de voyage pour permettre aux étudiant(e)s d'assister au congrès de l'UICr. Les bourses sont accessibles à toute personne en cours de maitrise (M.Sc) ou de doctorat (Ph.D.) en cristallographie, et regulièrement inscrite dans une université canadienne. Au cas où le nombre de demandes serait élevé, la préférence sera accordée aux dossiers provenant d'étudiant(e)s en préparation de doctorat (Ph.D.). Jusqu'à trois bourses, de 750 $ chacune, seront décernées pour contribuer aux frais de voyage et autres frais. Les candidat(e)s choisi(e)s devront présenter une communication ou une affiche. Il est a noter que ce support financier n'est pas suppose être puor une des rèunions satellite du congrès. Les candidatures seront jugées selon la documentation suivante, que doivent fournir tou(te)s candidat(e)s:
* Une copie du résumé soumis pour le congrès
* Une brève description (<200 mots) de leur sujet de recherche
* Une lettre de référence du directeur de thèse
* La date prévue d'obtention du diplôme
* La liste de toutes autres sources de financement pour
assister au congrès, incluant le soutien financier du
directeur de thèse et autres bourses pour lesquelles
l’étudiant(e)aura postulé
Les dossiers de candidature pour les bourses de voyage doivent être reçus au plus tard le Mardi, 15 Mars 2011. Les candidat(e)s sélectionnés seront annoncé au 31 Mars 2011.
